Abstract
This study analyzes the adequacy of Indonesia's criminal law in protecting women victims of deepfake pornography and formulates policy reformulation with a gender perspective. The study uses normative legal methods with legislative, conceptual, limited case approaches, and comparisons to the United Kingdom and the United States. The results of the study show that the ITE Law, the Pornography Law, the TPKS Law, the PDP Law, and the Criminal Code have provided a basis for handling, but have not explicitly regulated the creation of synthetic intimate representations, requests for creation, platform obligations, and digital footprint recovery. This fragmentation creates a protection gap that can be seen in the challenges of handling cases within SMAN 11 Semarang and Diponegoro University in 2025. Because it is normative, this study does not include empirical interviews with victims or law enforcement officials. Nonetheless, the research offers a direction of criminal reformulation that integrates victim protection, content removal, and digital recovery through a Gender-Responsive Criminal Protection Model that links tiered criminalization, differentiated accountability, gender-sensitive justice processes, and digital recovery in an integrated manner to support gender equality and social justice in the governance of digital spaces.
